The Arriva site shows a 370 Stockport to Sale service (Mon-Sat Eves & Suns)wef 25 October 2009.
Is this service running or is this deferred too?

Shaun

All 370 journeys should be running to Altrincham, Arriva just a bit slow in updating the timetables. As are GMPTE, who still haven't got the new timetable up for download yet.

there is no services from stockport to sale and it is a shame that the only service which was due to be available has been cancelled. a lot of parents including myself are now faced with no public transport from this area i.e the heatons in stockport. this will cause parents to remove thier childern from sale grammar school or cause further congestion.
on behalf of many parents and myself we plead to have this bus route on service asap

Dear Stage Coach bus services,

We are very dissapointed to learn that the 370 bus from stockport to Sale Grammer school has been cancelled. We had been waiting a long time for this service to operate so our children can commute to school. Please let me know of any further advances. Mrs Noor

Recent comments highlight an interesting dilemma between those who want a service to Altrincham and those who want a service to Sale. Given that there are much closer high schools to the Heatons than the one in Sale - indeed probably the closest is at Parrs Wood which is well served by buses already - I'm not sure what the value of diverting the whole daytime service to Sale when you could just put on a schoolbus.

And given that the school in question isn't even in the same local authority, or indeed could be classed as being anywhere near the boundary, perhaps the school or the parents should club together to provide a minibus?

THE GMPTE site shows the Su and PH timetable revised on 370 from Dec - so it looks like staying as an Altrincham servcie!

Shaun

The Sunday/Public Holiday change is the withdrawl of the short journeys between Altrincham and Northenden, basically back to a straightforward hourly service. The next GMITA meeting is on the 8th January 2010, so if the Sale link is to be resurrected, it'll probably be at the end of January 2010 at the earliest.

Mind you, the 370 is an Altrincham service everywhere you look apart from the Arriva website, which still has the Sale times up!

Shaun
